How to type Chinese characters on your computer

Many pupils seems to be having difficulties in typing Chinese characters. You can try and follow this steps and see whether it will help you in being able to type in Chinese.

1) Go to "Start" button and click on "Control Panel".
2) Look for "Regional and Language Options" and double click.
3) Find the "Keyboards and Languages" at the top of the newly opened window and click on it.
4) Click on the "Change Keyboards" button.
5) Click on the "add" button and look for "Chinese PRC" among the different languages.
6) Click on the '+' sign and check the first 2 boxes. (Chinese simplified - Microsoft Hanyu Pin Yin and US keyboard) then click on "ok"
7) Click on "Apply" and then "Ok".
8) In the language bar you should be able to see the Chinese PRC language you just added, choose the "Microsoft - Hanyu Pin Yin" and you should be able to start typing Chinese characters!
